Company
Originally founded by Peter Pincott, Dairy-Pac International has been operating successfully from its facilities in Melbourne, Australia for more than 14 years.
Currently, Dairy-Pac is one of the top players in the international dairy blending, packing and export business, with principal focus on dairy products, dairy blends and nutritional formula.
Formally known as Powder Blenders Australia, Dairy-Pac International commenced business on January 1, 1999 by securing the production facilities of Multiblossom International P/L. At that time, our main activity involved the blending of milk powders, predominately off-spec for various pre-mixers for export and the downgrading of products for use as Calf Milk Replacers. However, over the past 14 years the nature of our business has changed and we are no longer involved in Feed Grade Powder business. Dairy-Pac International currently deals with Food Grade Products only.
In 2001, we expanded our business to include blending and packing of dairy products as well as the packing of soft packs for the consumer market. Since then, the business has continued to grow rapidly and, in early 2002 we moved to a more modern facility and our current premises, in the Melbourne suburb of Thomastown. The new production facility has provided Dairy-Pac International with a greater capacity and flexibility in packing options.
Our current business now largely involves milk powder trading, blending and packing, mainly targeting retail (consumer) products. At Dairy-Pac we source our dairy products from Australian dairy manufacturers including Fonterra, Murray Goulburn, Burra Foods, Tatura and Longwarry. We also source stock from New Zealand dairy manufacturers.
As one of the major blenders and packers of dairy-based products in Australia, we are justifiably proud of our reputation for quality and on-time product delivery among both our Australian and export customers.
Dairy-Pac is fully licensed by Dairy Food Safety Victoria and the Australian Quarantine Inspection Service to manufacture, store and export dairy products. We are also approved with BRC (HACCP) certification and NASAA Organic certification. Our products are also HALAL and Kosher certified.
With a dynamic new management team, Dairy-Pac International has a clear strategic plan for future growth.
The Company currently has three packing lines.
Industrial Packing Line:
Our industrial packing line can pack industrial quantity packs from 10 - 25kg, and bulk quantity packs from 500 - 1000kg, with a capacity of 5 metric tons per hour. It is supported by 2 x 2 metric ton blenders and associated storage and transfer systems. The majority of the dairy-based products produced on this line are destined for our export markets.
Consumer Packing Line:
Our consumer packing line has the facility to pack consumer (retail) products from 20g sachets to 1.5Kg bags. This line is supported by two ‘form, fill and seal’ machines, a fully automated bag-in-box machine and has a capacity of 22 metric tones per shift. Dairy-Pac currently provides contract packing of soft packs for major brands such as Diploma (Fonterra Brands), as well as other generic brands for both the Australian domestic and export markets.
Cheese (Hard/Soft) Packing Line:
Dairy-Pac has recently been approved to repack both hard and soft cheese such as parmesan, romano, pecorino, and cream cheese. The newly added facility has the capacity to cut, seal, wax and pack cheese products for export and domestic market.
